Work Session

Trustee Corey called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Trustee Romano was present. Also present was Acting Administrator Lois McKnight, Fiscal Officer John Wahle and Law Director Tom Swope. Trustee Patterson was absent.
Executive Session
A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Romano to enter executive session to discuss personnel hiring. Motion carried.
A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Romano to return to regular session. Motion carried.
Pastor Heather Webster, Deerfield United Methodist Church, gave the opening prayer.
Trustee Romano led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Fiscal Officer
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Corey to approve Purchase Orders 09-13110, 13111, 13114 and 13115. Motion carried.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Corey to approve Warrants 55399 through 55433. Motion carried.
A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Romano to approve Resolution 2009-62 A Resolution Directing Payment of Township Expenses, Declaring an Emergency and Dispensing with the Second Reading. Motion carried.
John Wahle presented July 2009 financial reports.
Parks
Parks Director Joel Smiddy presented budget projection and opinion of probable cost compiled by CDS Associates for Deerfield Honors Veterans Park.
Fire Department
Chief Chris Eisele presented RFP requests for 2009 firefighter physicals and the department’s recommendation.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Corey to approve the use of Public Safety Health & Wellness to provide the yearly physicals for the fire Department. Motion carried.
A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Romano to take a five minute break. Motion carried.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Corey to return to regular session. Motion carried.
Administration
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Corey to approve payment of Invoice #09039-00005 from ME Companies in the amount of $380 from the TIF 98 General Reserve Fund. Motion carried.
A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Romano to table the TIF Payment-Service Facility Site agenda item until further notice. Motion carried.
