Work Session

November 19, 2009

Trustee Corey called the meeting to order at 6:08 p.m. Trustee Patterson was present. Trustee Romano was absent. Also present was Interim Administrator Bill Becker, Law Director Tom Swope and Fiscal Officer John Wahle.

Trustee Patterson led the Pledge of Allegiance. 

Public Works

Greens of Crooked Tree No Parking Request

Public Works Director Larry Weis presented the agenda item. Staff recommendation is to not approve the request.

Brian Blinn and Tim Moser, representing the homeowners’ association, spoke about the request.

The Board determined that the request will not be approved and offered staff assistance in providing a satisfactory solution.

Mason Road Budget

Larry Weis opened the discussion on Mason Road improvements in 2010. The Board discussed obtaining estimates and any programs and grants available for the project.

Greenfield Place Storm Water Repair Reimbursement

A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Patterson to approve Resolution 2009-82 A Resolution Authorizing the Entering of a Memorandum of Agreement Concerning Reimbursement for Repairs to the Storm Water System in Greenfield Place Subdivision and Dispensing with the Second Reading. Motion carried.

Maintenance/Landscape Items

Larry Weis led a discussion regarding maintenance and estimated cost in 2010 for the park & ride, township entry signs and US 22 & 3 island.

Fiscal Officer

UC TIF Presentation

Jennifer Pitzer and Jeff Rexhausen, University of Cincinnati Economic Department, presented a model for TIF revenue in 2010.

Financial Report

John Wahle presented financial reports for each department.

Budget Comparisons

John Wahle reviewed a budget comparison for 2009 and 2010.

Fire Department

Fire Chief Chris Eisele presented a request to purchase a fire engine and staff vehicle. An agenda item will be presented at the December 8 meeting.

Warren County Sheriff’s Office – Deerfield Township Post

Post Commander Lt. Mike Highley discussed office furniture and equipment for the post’s new headquarters.

Parks Department

Parks Director Joel Smiddy presented a list of renovations from PAST Architecture to better secure the King Mansion. The board recommended additional information to be presented early in the 2010 year.

TIF Projects

Interim Administrator Bill Becker led a discussion regarding procedures when initiating projects using TIF funds.
