Regular Meeting
April 21, 2009
Trustee Romano called the meeting to order at 6:29 p.m. Trustee Patterson was present. Also present was Administrator Dan Evers, Fiscal Officer John Wahle and Law Director Tom Swope. Trustee Corey was absent.
Patrick Vail, Director of Elementary Ministries at Montgomery Community Church, offered a prayer.
Trustee Romano led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Fiscal Officer
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Patterson to approve Purchase Order 09-12487. Motion carried.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Patterson to approve Resolution 2009-29 A Resolution Directing Payment of Township Expenses, Declaring an Emergency and Dispensing with the Second Reading. Motion carried.
Board Action – New Business
Community Development
Lois McKnight, Community Development Director, presented the agenda items.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Patterson to approve Resolution 2009-30 A Resolution Approving a Zone Change for 0.15 Acres of Real Property Located at 1897 US Route 22 & 3 from Residential Single Family (R-SF) to General Business (G-B). Motion carried.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Patterson to approve Resolution 2009-31 A Resolution Approving a Zone Change for 0.09 Acres of Real Property Located at 8095 Old 3C Highway from Residential Single Family (R0SF) to General Business (G-B). Motion carried.
Public Works
Eric Reiners, Project Manager, presented the agenda items.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Patterson to accept for public maintenance the streets in Cherry Brook Sections 2, 2A, 3, 3A, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Motion carried.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Patterson to accept for public maintenance the streets in The Woods Section 9. Motion carried.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Patterson to accept the proposal from Charles H. Hamilton Company for the Rose Hill Cemetery Expansion project and authorize the Township Administrator to sign any applicable documents. Motion carried.
Parks Department
Joel Smiddy, Parks Director, presented the agenda item.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Patterson to approve the proposal from Natorp’s Inc. for mowing at Fleckenstein Park at a cost of $19,900; Carter Park (as needed) at a cost of $4,950 and the Park and Ride at a cost of $4,550 and authorizing the township administrator to execute all necessary documentation for the contract agreement. Motion carried.
Administration
Dan Evers presented the agenda item.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Patterson to approve the lease with Guy Ashmore DBA Deerfield Township Farmers Market and authorize the township administrator to execute the lease. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Patterson to approve the April 7, 2009 regular session minutes as presented. Motion carried.
Consent Agenda

A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Patterson to approve Warrants #54620 through 54704. Motion carried.
Human Resources
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Patterson to approve the pay rate increase for Firefighter/Paramedic Josh Giles to $16 per hour effective April 6, 2009. Motion carried.
Administration
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Patterson to grant an additional two weeks of vacation to Peggy Monjar which will carry forward until Mrs. Monjar reaches the maximum number of vacation weeks allowed in the Township’s Vacation Policy. Motion carried.
Reports
Trustee Patterson discussed the successful township Easter egg hunt.
Executive Session
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Patterson to enter executive session to discuss pending litigation and personnel review. Motion carried.
