Work Session 

Trustee Corey called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Trustee Romano was present. Also present was Administrator Dan Evers, Fiscal Officer John Wahle and Law Director Tom Swope. Trustee Patterson was absent.

Executive Session

A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Romano to enter executive session to discuss pending litigation. Motion carried. 

A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Romano to return to regular session. Motion carried.

Pastor Heather Webster, Deerfield United Methodist Church, offered a prayer.

Trustee Romano led the Pledge of Allegiance. 

Fiscal Officer

John Wahle presented the agenda items.

Financial Reports were presented for General Fund, Fire/EMS, Road and Bridge, Warren County Sheriff’s Office Deerfield Township Post and Parks Funds.

A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Corey to approve Purchase Orders 09-12543, 12545 and 12554. Motion carried.

Public Works – Greenfield Place

Eric Reiners, Project Manager, gave an update on the status of the Greenfield Place storm sewer and examine the feasibility of making repairs to open drainage with the storm system. A discussion included members of the Deerfield Regional Stormwater District. 

A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Romano to take a five-minute break. Motion carried.

A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Romano to return to regular session. Motion carried. 

Status Update Goals and Objectives

Dan Evers presented the agenda item. The following department heads gave presentations on goals and objectives.

Lt. Brian Tinch from Warren County Sheriff’s Office – Deerfield Twp. Post,

Lois McKnight from Community Development,

Joel Smiddy from Parks Department,

Fran Klatte from Public Relations,

Eric Reiners from Public Works Department,

Peggy Monjar from Human Resources and Assistance to Administrator,

Fire Chief Chris Eisele from the Fire Department.

HR-Seasonal Summer Camp Counselors

A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Romano to rehire Stephanie Gebele, Daniel McGlothlin, April Naylor, Kyle Raffle and Lauren Vessalo at a rate of $10.15 per hour and hire Kristin Schaub at a rate of $10 per hour, as Seasonal Camp Counselors pending successful drug screening and background check. Motion carried.

A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Romano to adjourn at 10:53 p.m. Motion carried.
