Trustee Corey called the meeting to order. All members of the Board were present. Also present were Administrator Dan Evers, Law Director Tom Swope. Fiscal Officer John Wahle was absent.

Trustee Romano led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Continuing Education Agreement Authorization

Dan Evers presented the agenda item.

A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Patterson to approve the college tuition agreement with Eric Reiners (with a change from bachelor’s degree to MPA degree) and authorize the execution of the contract by Dan Evers, Township Administrator. Motion carried unanimously.

Update on Traffic Signal at Nantucket

Larry Weis presented the agenda item. After a discussion, Mr. Weis will arrange a meeting with interested parties.

Fire Department Planning Update

Dan Evers presented the agenda item regarding fire service collaboration. Mr. Evers will meet with Mason City Manager Eric Hanson regarding the proposed agreement.

Donation – Warren County Parks

Dan Evers presented the agenda item.

After discussion, the Board authorized a donation of $35,000 to Warren County Parks.

Spending Plan Update

Dan Evers reported that there have been internal meetings on the 2009 spending plan. Temporary appropriations will be presented at the Trustee meeting on January 6, 2009. Final allocations will be discussed on January 24, 2009 at the Board’s retreat.

Executive Session

A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Romano to enter executive session to discus pending and threatened litigation and collective bargaining. The Board concurred and motion carried.
