Located at 5847
Irwin-Simpson Road, Deerfield Township, Cottell Park is a crown jewel
of the Deerfield Township Park system. The
Snyder House, located at the
park, can be rented for receptions, parties and events.
Cottell Park is one of
the largest, most active parks with soccer fields, tennis
courts, baseball fields, and sand volleyball. The park also has a
fishing lake, children's playground and restroom facilities.
The Veteran's Memorial is currently under
construction.
Before her death in 2001, Mary Cottell, patroness
of the park, generously donated $50,000 to the parks system. Long range plans for the park include
lighting, a gazebo and a large pavilion. Three baseball fields, protective shelters, restroom, garage, and a fishing boardwalk
are other amenities. The Veteran's Memorial is currently
in progress.
