Sampler. These talented students study under the direction of Sergei
Polusmiak, Director of the Russian School of Music, located in
Mason, Ohio. This concert is free to the community.
Between 20 and 30 students will participate in the recital. These
accomplished students have already won prestigious piano
competitions and played with symphony orchestras across the country
and internationally. Some have performed at Carnegie Hall in New
York and the Oriental Arts Center in Shanghai.
Guests will also enjoy a rare performance by Sergei Polusmiak. A
renowned pianist from the Ukraine, Polusmiak graduated from the
Kharkov Conservatory where he studied with Regina Horowitz, sister
of the piano legend Vladimir Horowitz. He has gained international
acclaim through appearances with orchestras as a soloist. Polusmiak
founded his own private school called the Russian School of Music
which provides training for all ages based on the Russian system of
music education.

P.D. Eastman’s classic children’s book
comes to life on stage in an exploration of movement, color and
space. The dogs delve into life with gusto, creating a visual
spectacle for the audience to feast upon. They snorkel. They howl at
the moon. They ride a ferris wheel. They sing and dance and climb
trees. This is a rollicking free-for-all of chicanine-ery. A big and
little musical world of doggy fun. Like a pop-up book that comes to
life – and never stops.
